Do not drink tap water! You’ll easily find bottled water everywhere.
Avoid travelling alone and if possible take local friends along with you while roaming on the streets, especially at night.
Yellow seats (on buses and trains) are for disabled people, elderly or pregnant women.
Run, walk, hire a tandem or pedal a swan boat around Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon (lagoa), either during the day or at night!
Tipping is not compulsory and also not expected from the local people, and 10% is usually included on your bill.
Eat, eat and eat! Churrasco, tapioca, black beans and rice.. hmmm
